The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, popularly known as AIIMS, is a group of autonomous public medical colleges in India that strives to impart top quality medical education to the numerous aspirants from all over the country.
AIIMS colleges in India are regarded as the primary and the best medical institutes in the country and are a dream of every medical aspirant. AIIMS colleges have been bestowed the tag of the ‘Institutes of National Importance’ by an Act of Parliament.
At present, there are 9 AIIMS colleges in India that grant admission to MBBS courses offered by them through the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam. AIIMS MBBS 2018 exam was conducted on 26th May and 27th May 2018 in an online or computer-based mode. Thousands of candidates apply for the AIIMS MBBS exam every year to live their dream of studying at AIIMS colleges in India of their choice. Furthermore, the Union Cabinet has approved a proposal to set up 20 new AIIMS colleges soon.
The main agenda of the government behind setting up new branches of AIIMS colleges is to create a balanced doctor-patient ratio by the year 2021. The government is also working relentlessly towards increasing the number of MBBS seats and PG seats in these colleges in order to reduce the shortage of doctors and to improve the quality of healthcare in the country.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, has released the AIIMS MBBS result on June 18, 2018, and the details can be checked here by the candidates. The result has been released in the form of merit list and individual percentile scorecards. Candidates can check and download their percentile scorecards by logging in through their AIIMS MBBS account. AIIMS, New Delhi has released roll number-wise and rank-wise merit list which includes all the candidates who have qualified the entrance exam. The inclusion in the merit list implies that the candidates are eligible for the counselling process. The number of candidates who have qualified the exam will be four times the number of seats available for admission to AIIMS MBBS 2018.
AIIMS MBBS 2018 was conducted on May 26 and 27, 2018. This was the first time AIIMS MBBS was conducted in four shifts. The entrance exam of AIIMS MBBS 2018 was held in online mode, as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in two slots – morning and evening – over two consecutive days. On both days, each slot of the exam took place for a duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes and the AIIMS MBBS 2018 candidates were required to appear as per the slot allotted to them. As per the candidates who took the exam, the overall difficulty level of the question paper was average. Physics was the toughest section as compared to all other sections.
Along with NEET and JIPMER, AIIMS MBBS is one among India’s three medical entrance exams at the undergraduate level. It is highly competitive, with more than 3 lakh candidates applying. Counselling for those candidates who have qualified the exam will be conducted from June 23, 2018, onwards. This year AIIMS MBBS 2018 aspirants can apply for seats at the AIIMS Guntur and AIIMS Nagpur campuses as well. Aspirants appearing for the AIIMS MBBS 2018 entrance exam will be considered for 800 seats across nine different AIIMS institutions. AIIMS New Delhi along with the other AIIMS institutions located in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh will offer 100 seats each. The two new AIIMS in Guntur and Nagpur will offer 50 seats each for this year.

AIIMS New Delhi has released AIIMS result 2018 on June 18, 2018. Only those candidates who have successfully secured the AIIMS qualifying percentile are able to check the AIIMS MBBS 2018 result, which has been declared roll number-wise as well as rank-wise. The result has been released in the form of merit lists and individual percentile scorecards. The AIIMS MBBS Result will also indicate candidate’s name, roll number, father’s name and category.
The merit list of AIIMS MBBS 2018 has been released by AIIMS New Delhi and contain the list of candidates who have qualified the exam in order of their final scores. The number of candidates included in the merit list is four times the number of seats available for the counselling process. The AIIMS Merit List has been prepared for the qualified candidates who clear the AIIMS Cut Off and only those candidates who obtain a rank in the AIIMS MBBS 2018 Merit List will be invited for the counselling process.

The Cut Off of AIIMS MBBS 2018 has been used to determine the candidates who have qualified AIIMS MBBS 2018. As per AIIMS New Delhi, the AIIMS 2018 Cut Off marks for General Candidates is 50%, for SC/ST candidates it is 40% while for OBC candidates, it is 45%. Until now, a normalization procedure was used to determine a common qualifying cut off percentile across the two shifts in which AIIMS MBBS was held. However, from this year onwards, the exam was held in four shifts so the normalization procedure has been used to determine the qualifying cut off percentile across four shifts instead of two. If the percentiles obtained from all four shifts are dissimilar or different, the lower of the four percentiles will be the eligibility cut off in a particular category for all candidates across both shifts.

The AIIMS MBBS counselling 2018 will be conducted in online mode for the first time ever.
